Taking Flight at Norfolk State University
Uncrewed Aerial Systems are reshaping logistics, agriculture, public safety, and defense — and Hampton Roads sits at the center of it. Generational collaborates with Norfolk State University students as they build real, hands-on drone skills: flight operations, safety, airspace rules, and the engineering behind autonomous flight.
Students move from the classroom to the field, learning the same practices the industry uses — and building a direct line into one of the fastest-growing career fields in the region. They will compete in the Robonation SUAS International Competition in Tulsa, OK September 14-17, 2026.
What Students Learn
Flight Operations
Hands-on piloting, pre-flight checks, and safe, confident control of the aircraft.

FAA rules, airspace awareness, and the responsibilities that come with flying.
